I have a new way of saving for you today and it’s called NCP ReCap.  If you’re new to this, then welcome but it’s a super user-friendly app and you’re saving just like you do with Fetch Rewards and Ibotta. Join me as I familiarize you with this awesome savings app! You’ll be glad to know you’re no longer going to be throwing money away!

Here is some more information about the savings app that will help you get started!

What is NCP ReCap?

NCP ReCap is a new app from National Consumer Panel that allows you to earn great rewards simply for taking photos of receipts when you make purchases in-store or online.

Does it cost anything to participate?

No. Panel membership is completely free and completely voluntary. You do not have to pay us anything, and you can cancel at any time.

Do I get paid for participating on the panel?

You do not receive payment for participating on the panel, but you do earn rewards! You will receive 50 points each for the first 10 receipts you submit each week for a grand total of up to 500 points a week! You can then use those points to redeem for gift cards like Amazon. You may also earn entries into a variety of sweepstakes!

I just signed up for NCP ReCap, but right now I am pretty limited in what I can do. What should I do to get started?

Getting started is easy! Your first task will be to tap the “Get Started” button to answer a few questions so that we can learn more about yourself. After you have completed the survey you will be able to start sending us your receipts and earning reward points.

How is NCP different than other market-research companies?

NCP is more than just a survey company. Our primary focus is on our members recording their purchases. When you send us photos of all your receipts, we can accurately track what, where, and when consumers are shopping, as well as how much they are spending. This kind of information is extremely valuable to manufacturers and retailers, who are making decisions about what type of brands and products to sell to consumers.

Does NCP share your personal information with clients?

NCP will NEVER share your personal information. This information is only used to manage your membership account. All personal information is kept confidential by NCP. The only information we share with clients is the shopping data our panel members send to us. Companies will never see your name, address, or contact information. We also do not collect or ask for social security or credit card numbers.

How are my receipts being used?

Your receipt data is combined with all of our other ReCap users so that market research reports can be created and provided to manufacturers and retailers. This helps your favorite brands make more informed decisions when creating new products. All personal information is removed during aggregation so there’s no way for someone looking at the report to determine who personally purchased each item.

Other people in my household also have a Smartphone. Can we install the NCP ReCap App on their phones, too?

Sure! All members of the household are encouraged to install ReCap and report their purchases individually as long as they have an iOS or Android Smartphone (sorry…iPads and other tablets are not supported at this time). Just make sure that any other participating members of your household only submit the same receipt one time. Otherwise it’ll be flagged as a duplicate and no points will be given.

What if I get a new mobile device?

If you get a new device, you can still participate on the panel. All you need to do is install NCP ReCap on your new device, and use your existing ID and password to log in.

My Smartphone isn’t working, so I can’t submit my receipts. What should I do?

If your device is lost or damaged, or you will not have it available for any reason to scan your purchases during the week, make sure to contact their support center at support@ncprecap.com and inform them so you can continue to receive credit for being a member.

How many names can I add on the “Shoppers” screen?

You may include up to 20 shoppers in your list. The shoppers you add do not have to live in your household. If you shop with someone outside of your household they can be included on the list as well.

What types of receipts is NCP ReCap looking for?

They are not picky so they’ll take receipts from anywhere, like KROGER that you’ve made a purchase, as long as it is not a hand-written receipt. This could be at a traditional retailer, a restaurant, a gas station, or online. If there’s any doubt, send it our way. We’ll let you know if it’s not accepted.

What would cause your receipt to be rejected?

There are several things that could lead to a receipt being rejected and a member not receiving their reward points:

  • The receipt is missing the retailer name, the date of purchase or the total amount spent.
  • The image submitted is too blurry or far away to be able to be processed.
  • Two or more pictures of the same receipt are submitted by a panel/household member.
  • The receipt is hand written.
  • The receipt is from a purchase that happened more than 14 days ago.

How do you dispute an invalid receipt?

To dispute any receipts you feel were marked incorrectly as being invalid, please contact support@ncprecap.com as soon as you are notified. All receipt disputes must be reported within 14 days of submission. Please retain a copy of your receipts in the event that we ask you to resubmit it to ReCap.

My receipt is long and won’t fit into a single image. What should you do?

NCP ReCap allows you to take multiple images of long receipts so that we can see all of the details of your purchase. After you’ve taken your first picture you’ll see that a box appears at the top of the screen which shows an overlap areas. Align the overlap area with the matching portion of the receipt and take another picture. Keep doing this until you get the whole receipt.

How long does it take to get the points for my receipt?

Our goal is to validate your receipt and get you your points as quickly as possible. The majority of receipts will be processed and points awarded within 24 hours; however it could take up to 5 business days (depending on the volume of receipts). Making sure that your image is clear and readable will go a long way towards ensuring quicker processing.

I went ahead and installed the app - although I agree with Rick that you're going to be scanning a lot of receipts in order to get a reward. You do receive 250 points for installing the app/signing up. I would say that this app is a lot like Fetch (although Fetch offers product bonuses - so you do earn points faster). If you're someone who wants to do the bare minimum (only scanning receipts), then this app and Fetch are your best options (Fetch is the better of the two- IMO). Just keep in mind that it's going to take some time to qualify for rewards. You can earn rewards faster with an app like Ibotta. The only caveat with Ibotta is that you have to "clip" product "coupons" in the app - so Ibotta is a little more involved (but worth it).

Points system seems same as FETCH. The 50 points (5 cents) x 10 per week seems to top out @ 50 cents per week, or $26 / year for scanning 520 receipts.. The last I knew, u can only redeem for Amazon gift cards. And points expire after 90 days of inactivity. I mean ALL your points. The only reason I mess with FETCH are their popup and special promotions. If I only earned 2.5 cents per receipt and the meager fixed amounts for partner products, I wouldn't bother. Obviously a personal choice, so maybe scanning 520 receipts for $26 is worth it for you.

I think that you can also cash out for Visa gift cards also. It's a better deal than Amazon as far as points needed per dollar on the gift card.

Color me unimpressed. I can't quickly find a clear statement of the value of ReCap reward points, but hovering over the "Redeem your points for rewards" block at https://www.ncprecap.com/ shows a $5 reward for 5,000 points, meaning you'd have to upload 10 receipts per week for 10 weeks to earn a $5 Amazon gift card, but hey! you'd only have to "max out" every week for 42 weeks to get $25. Thanks, but I'll pass.

How Does Kroger Cash Back Work?

I’m so excited to talk to you about Kroger Cash Back.

This is a new rebate program similar to Ibotta (that we all love)!  This is very new to Kroger so it’s still a learning process for me.  I will be learning more and updating as I get more information so stay tuned.

UPDATE AS OF 2/5/20: It has come to our attention that Kroger has updated their Cash Back FAQs to now state that PAPER coupons also cannot be used with the cash back offers. This clause was added AFTER we wrote our initial tutorial and I recorded the video below, so please take note of that. We will no longer be stacking ANY coupons with Kroger Cash Back offers in order to keep in line with written policy. “Digital Coupons and Cash Back Offers may not be combined and are limited to one per item. Cash Back Offers and paper coupons may also not be combined on the purchase of a single item.”

UPDATE AS OF 7/2/19: After experimenting for a couple of weeks, we have some answers to questions, so I wanted to do a video explaining a bit more in depth on how exactly this works!!

In order to find this page, head to Kroger and click the save button at the top of the page and scroll down to “Kroger Cash Back“.

NOTE: This option is currently ONLY available on Kroger.com, not on the Kroger app.

What are Cash Back Offers and Rewards?

Kroger Cash Back is a new program where you can earn money on the items you buy everyday! Simply load the Cash Back Offer to your Shopper’s Card to redeem on qualifying purchases. Once you purchase the qualifying item for the Cash Back Offer, your balance will begin to accrue. You can then cash out your Cash Back Reward to your Shopper’s Card or PayPal account.

What is required to load Cash Back Offers?

To take advantage of a Cash Back Offer, you just need to create an account on Kroger’s account and register your Shopper’s Card. If you don’t have a digital account, click here.

How does cashing out my Cash Back Rewards to my Shopper’s Card work?

The Cash Back Reward amount can be redeemed on your next shopping trip. If you do not use the full Cash Back Reward amount in one shopping trip, you can continue to use it in future shopping trips until you use all of the remaining amount. Cash Back Reward earnings cannot be applied to the purchase of fuel, gift cards, alcohol, pharmacy purchases, tobacco products, lottery, money services and fees.

Have you seen that you can NOW link your Kroger card to your Ibotta account and forget about scanning your receipts? If not, head in and link your card.  This makes Ibotta SO much easier for me now and I couldn’t love it more!

Ibotta release a 5-icon Navigation Bar that helps finding the rebates and stores much easier.

Want to learn more about what Ibotta has to offer?  Read on!

:: How does ibotta work?

That is a question I get a lot, so I wanted to post another tutorial for those of you who haven’t yet started using ibotta. Additionally, they have updated a lot of the features, so you may need to familiarize yourself with these.

2

ibotta is a free smart phone app (that has recently been updated) that lets you earn real money for items you purchase at many store nationwide, including Kroger! As of right now, there is no policy against stacking paper coupons to really maximize your savings!  🙂

4

:: CHOOSE OFFERS

When you open Ibotta, click on Grocery (or Restaurant or Home Improvement) and choose your store. You’ll see Ibotta Offers in the Product Gallery. Each store will not only include offers that are available everywhere, but will sometimes have store exclusives.

5

Offers expire so don’t forget to redeem them before they’re gone!

How Does ibotta Work?

:: GO SHOPPING

After choosing offers by completing tasks, offers will be added to your Pending list. Buy these items at any of the over 50 retailers where Ibotta works. Be sure to check your favorite stores to find exclusive offers that are only available at select stores.

3

:: VERIFY PURCHASES

Ibotta will verify your purchases and send you cash within 24 hours. Depending on the store, there are two ways to verify purchases:

If the store selected shows Redeem in the Product Gallery, take a picture of your receipt and follow the instructions.

If the store is an Ibotta Preferred Partner, it’s even easier – choose Link Account and register your loyalty card or phone number. At checkout, use your loyalty card or phone number, and they’ll handle the rest!

:: EARN CASH

The best part about Ibotta is that you earn real money, not points or other made-up currencies. What you see is what you get. To get your cash, just link your Ibotta account with PayPal, or create a new PayPal account within the App. 100% of your Ibotta earnings can be transferred to PayPal as soon as you’ve earned $5. You can also take advantage of other exciting Cash Out options, which include Gift Cards from iTunes, Redbox, Starbucks and more.

*Promotion of the Week*

Upload a receipt from any Kroger Grocery Store location and enter to win $$ giveaway on Friday (9/28). One valid receipt = one valid entry (automatically entered – does not include e-receipts). Extra entry for Kroger receipts.

Keep reading to learn more about the CoinOut App!

Anyone ready to learn about a new app that can earn you money?  If so, then make sure to download the app CoinOut (as seen on Shark Tank) and start uploading receipts to earn cash back.  You can upload receipts from most stores you shop at like Kroger.  Get paid to shop normally…at ANY RETAILER! It may be just a few cents per receipt but those babies add up quickly!! And with very little time or effort!

You don’t have to find specific deals or take time to see if a certain retailer is on the program. Just snap and earn! Receipts need to be uploaded within 2 weeks of original purchase and include date, retail name, items purchased, bill amount and be readable. The software will cancel non receipts or non readable transactions automatically.

To begin, download the app available on iOS and Android. Take your receipt from a recent purchase and place it flat on an even surface. Press “SCAN” on the app and align the receipt between the yellow lines in the app. Press the button to capture the receipt. You’ll receive an automatic amount of cash back. Make sure to take a clear picture of your receipt – it should show the name of the store, date of purchase and all items purchased. The better quality receipt and picture, the more you’ll earn!

There are a few easy things to get yourself set up to earn more! First, get your referral link from the app in the “share and earn” section. Currently, you’ll earn $0.50 per every verified referral. Second, check the Coupons section of the App for deals, promotions and additional ways to earn some extra bucks. Click the coupons to view the deals. Third, sign up for the EARN by CoinOut newsletter.

All receipts from any retailer with the following information will receive cash back:

  1. Date of Transaction (must be within 2 weeks from upload date and shown on the receipt)
  2. Store Name
  3. Total Bill Amount
  4. Receipt line items with prices
  5. The receipt cannot have been uploaded by your account previously or another account.

If the receipt is not readable, the cash back will not be processed. If the receipt is too long, try folding the receipt to get most of the information in (date, store name and total bill amount).

The following receipts do not receive cash back:

  1. ATM Receipts
  2. Lotto Tickets
  3. Credit Card Slips
  4. Money Orders
  5. Pictures of just barcodes or QR codes

Once you cash out, it usually takes 24-48 hours to process the transaction. Once processed it takes 2-3 business days depending on your bank.

Once you cash out for a gift card, it usually takes 24-48 hours to process the transaction. If processed, you will receive the gift card to your email within a few hours.

Anywhere that gives you a valid receipt like KROGER!!!

The amount is changed daily – tune in each day to see how many you can do!

In the app, press the $ sign button to see available options in the top right.

Are you ready to start? If so…

Ibotta release a 5-icon Navigation Bar that helps finding the rebates and stores much easier.

Want to learn more about what Ibotta has to offer?  Read on!

ibotta

:: How does ibotta work?

4

:: CHOOSE OFFERS

:: GO SHOPPING

After choosing offers by completing tasks, offers will be added to your Pending list. Buy these items at any of the over 50 retailers where Ibotta works. Be sure to check your favorite stores to find exclusive offers that are only available at select stores.

3

:: VERIFY PURCHASES

At checkout, use your loyalty card or phone number, and they’ll handle the rest!

how does ibotta work?

:: EARN CASH

I started using it over a month ago and really like it. I haven't gotten enough points to cash out yet. Good to add to other apps that I use.

I meant points system same as FETCH = both are 1000 points equal $1

Color me unimpressed. I can't quickly find a clear statement of the value of ReCap reward points, but hovering over the "Redeem your points for rewards" block at https://www.ncprecap.com/ shows a $5 reward for 5,000 points, meaning you'd have to upload 10 receipts per week for 10 weeks to earn a $5 Amazon gift card, but hey! you'd only have to "max out" every week for 42 weeks to get $25. Thanks, but I'll pass.
